What to expect:
A basic overview of the original DBT skills will be covered along with how to structure and format skills training groups. This training is targeted toward those who are new to DBT with limited experience and who are looking to fulfill the prerequisite to attend more comprehensive DBT training in the future. Topics covered will include:
- History of DBT
- Research on DBT
- Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Defined and Re-Defined
- Biosocial therapy of BPD
- Dialectics defined and dialectical dilemmas of BPD
- Assumptions about individuals with BPD and therapist who treat them
- Modes and functions of DBT
- DBT Skills Training
Who should attend:
This training is only for persons who serve individuals through the OCHN provider network. This seminar contains content appropriate for medical directors, clinical directors, case workers, supports coordinators, peers, and other practitioners at all beginning level of practice.
