Supports Intensity Scale ®
The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) is pleased to announce an award to the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) for statewide implementation of the Supports Intensity Scale (SIS®). The SIS® will be used as a standardized assessment for adults with developmental disabilities in Michigan. The AAIDD contract provides for a subcontract with MORC which includes training and related quality monitoring.
In anticipation of MDCH’s announcement regarding the SIS®, Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority (OCCMHA) is working in collaboration with Community Living Services/OC and Macomb-Oakland Regional Center (MORC) to develop successful communication and implementation plans that will educate and support people with developmental disabilities who are receiving services. MORC and CLS/OC have been utilizing the SIS® assessment as a pre-planning tool to measure the support needs of those we serve since 2009.
